tbh i feel like i don’t need reason to like female characters
like i’m not gonna write u a five page essay on why i like a female character
like 90% of the time i like female characters poorly written or otherwise and i feel like i don’t owe it to anyone to explain why
Black Bat aka Cassandra Cain.
Picked up a commission with Cass in it and it got the wheels turning. Pieced this from previous redesigns I’ve done in the past, streamlined her down to the basics and it turned into this.
I’m not a believer in Cass with a cape and this version isn’t any different. Cass has to be lightning quick, and a cape on her doesn’t cut it. And I don’t have a problem at all arming her. Nope. In previous versions, I white’ed her eyes out to give a more haunting look, this time I went with a golden eye’d look. Just theatrics.

Batgirl aka Stephanie Brown.
I worked on this all day and part of this morning. I think I was finished with it at least twice, freaked, dismantled it, and rebuilt it piece by piece. There’s something about drawing a…..fan passionate character (to me, that is) that the need to get it right is a bit unnerving. I also think she’s my only really happy smiling hero.
There are subtle personal details that I wanted, like a streamlined…more ‘batmanesque’ belt and color details, and of course, I seem to make her taller and leaner.
